Balasubrameniam Selvam is the Managing & Founding Partner of Messrs Sothi Bala & Associates.

Prior to legal practice, Balasubrameniam Selvam started his career in the Company Secretarial Division of Albar Zulkifly & Yap for almost 7 years and later professionally had his pupilage commenced in Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners.

By colourful working experience, Balasubrameniam Selvam had 14 good years as Manager in the Legal & Company Secretarial Department of AmInvestment Banking Group, mainly handling corporate works for listed companies. AMMB Holdings Berhad and AmInvestment Group Berhad, are two listed companies on Main Board at Bursa Malaysia.

Balasubrameniam Selvam had his short stint with Attorney General Chambers handling prosecution work as an experienced person handling corporate/banking matters by which he was selected to join as Assistant Director, Prosecution Division of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in the year 2015.

However, for wanting to be in the legal fraternity, he opted to commence his legal practice on his own in the year 2016, whereby within a very short span of time he made good in legal practice, particularly in civil litigation. Later, he handles corporate advisory work, a forte that he has gained momentum since the beginning of his career as Corporate Secretary.

Balasubrameniam Selvam has a wide range of company matters and general litigation and manages a wide range of commercial practices and criminal proceedings, particularly in white-collar crime. He periodically appears in administrative, land law, and industrial relations matters where his experience from corporate sector experience made those disputes easily handled for final resolutions.

Balasubrameniam Selvam has handled a wide range of private mergers and acquisitions including initial public offerings of bluechip counters, notably, Petronas Dagangan Berhad, and was the pioneer working committee member during the initial establishment of Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd and AmInestment Banking Group Berhad.
